Exam Syllabus
1. Technical Subjects:
The syllabus for technical subjects would depend on the specific discipline or stream you are applying for. NPCIL recruits Executive Trainees in various engineering disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, etc.
The technical syllabus usually covers core subjects related to the respective engineering discipline, including topics from undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
Candidates may expect questions on topics such as engineering mathematics, applied mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, control systems, power systems, digital electronics, chemical process engineering, structural analysis, etc.
2. General Aptitude:
This section typically includes questions to assess candidates' reasoning ability, numerical aptitude, and verbal ability.
Topics may include quantitative aptitude (mathematics), logical reasoning, verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, etc.
3. General Knowledge:
Questions in this section test candidates' awareness of current affairs, general science, Indian history, geography, Indian polity, economics, etc.
Candidates may need to stay updated with national and international events, government schemes, important personalities, scientific advancements, etc.
4. Engineering Mathematics (for some streams):
Questions related to engineering mathematics may be included in the technical section for certain engineering disciplines.
5. Technical Awareness (for some streams):
This section may include questions to assess candidates' knowledge of the nuclear power industry, nuclear physics, radiation safety, nuclear reactor engineering, etc.
